Regional Visioning and Planning
Regional growth visioning and integrated planning represent a new generation of planning and growth management, both as a means of engaging citizens to strengthen the institution of democracy and also as a way to achieve better planning and public policy.
Working with and through Regional Collaborative partners, CCRL promotes a new governance model, "collaborative regional governance." Based on informal networks and focused on targeted problem-solving, this new form of governance engages the public, business, community and civic sectors to advance the 3E goals (economy, environment, social equity). The model is described further in the report of the Speaker's Commission on Regionalism, in California Regional Network, and in the National Civic Review.
